Robert J. Blake

President & CEO

Mr. Blake is President & CEO of the Blake Willson Group, LLC (BWG), a licensed CPA firm dedicated to serving clients in the federal government. As the founder of BWG, he envisioned a firm committed to helping federal agencies address audit and financial management related challenge while also supporting the mission first. With the ultimate goal of enabling cost savings, strengthening controls and reliability, and ensuring stewardship over tax payer dollars – allowing the government to always place the mission first.

Mr. Blake started his leadership endeavors as a Scout Team Leader for the United States Army where he led counter-insurgency efforts during deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After nearly a decade in the military, he was honorably discharged as a service disabled combat veteran.

Mr. Blake graduated at the top of his class from University of Maryland’s R.H. Smith School of Business, where he obtained a degree in Accounting. He is now a highly rated Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Maryland and Virginia, with previous experience in two of the Big 4 accounting firm’s audit and advisory practices. Mr. Blake has also been honored with a 40 under 40 leadership award in the Greater Washington area and led the firm in recognition by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce as a top emerging veteran-owned business.

Andrew H. Griffin

Senior Vice President

Mr. Griffin is Vice President of BWG, responsible for managing business development and human resource objectives. Mr. Griffin’s leadership experience was gained during his time at multiple Fortune 500 companies as well as East Carolina University (ECU). In February 2015, Mr. Griffin was awarded one of the University’s inaugural 40 under 40 leadership awards, recognizing emerging business leaders committed to positively impacting their local communities. Mr. Griffin holds a BSBA in Finance from ECU as well as the Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) and Certified Professional Property Specialist (CPPS) designations. Mr. Griffin is deeply involved with the American Heart Association mission.”

Jennifer Hughes

Vice President of Operations

Ms. Jennifer Hughes is responsible for the overall operations of BWG, ensuring that client deliverables are met and BWG employees are providing top-tier support as the company scales. This includes developing performance evaluation plans, employee recognition and rewards programs, and leading the management team on a weekly basis.

Ms. Hughes brings leadership experience from a Big 4 accounting firm where she led audit engagements in the commercial and federal sectors in the United States and Australia. Ms. Hughes previously served on the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) Conference planning committee and on the AFWA LEAP Advisory Council, tasked with the goal of attracting and increasing membership of young professionals through social media campaigns and networking activities.

Ms. Hughes holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from Siena College and is a highly rated CPA in DC and Virginia. She is also an active member of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC).

James Moreland

Vice President of Business Development

Mr. Moreland is Vice President of BWG, leading business development for the firm. Mr. Moreland brings leadership experience from over 10 years of professional consulting service to the Department of Defense and various Intelligence Community agencies, including previous experience with a Big 4 consulting firm.

Prior to entering private industry, Mr. Moreland served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. While part of the 101st Airborne Division he led a Counter-IED platoon and commanded both a rifle platoon and Combat Outpost on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Mr. Moreland holds an MBA in National Defense from George Mason University in addition to a BA in International Relations from Saint Joseph’s University.
